Here's what we were working with - an older door that had seen better days, paired with an aging Genie Pro Max opener that was well past its prime. The panels were worn, the hardware was tired, and the whole setup just wasn't doing the homeowner any favors. That's a pretty common situation we run into, and it's usually the point where patching things up stops making sense.

We pulled everything out and started fresh. The new door has a clean raised-panel look with tinted windows across the second row - a big step up from what was there before. The fit inside the opening is tight and even, with all the hardware sitting exactly where it should. It's the kind of install that holds up long-term because the details are done right from the start.

For the opener, we went with a LiftMaster. There's a reason we keep coming back to that brand - reliable operation, quieter than most older chain-drive units, and built to handle daily use without complaints. The myQ-powered unit we installed here gives the homeowner smartphone control, so they can check on the door from anywhere. That alone is a feature people genuinely use.

Swapping both the door and the opener in one visit also means everything is dialed in together. No mismatched hardware, no guessing whether an old opener will play nicely with a new door. It all works as one system, and that makes a real difference in how the door performs day to day.
